Kristina is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international folk circuit. She is a fine instrumentalist - acoustic guitar, steel bodied slide-guitar, saxophone, concertina and piano, as well as a powerful songwriter with a big bluesy voice.. Kristina draws audiences from around the world into her rich tapestry of witty, often cutting edge yet brilliant observed tales of human behaviour. With her mix of strong songs in the troubadour tradition, some jazz-inspired sounds and powerful bottleneck blues make for diverse and satisfying musical experience, on stage and on disc. Kristina has performed at most of the major folk festivals in the UK and many in Australia and the USA. She has performed at the Jersey Festival of World Music and twice, in 2002 and 2003 at Glasgow's Celtic Connections. Kristina with Peter Grayling: Australian, Peter Grayling, is a botanist by profession and a classically trained cellist. He and Kristina met during one of her many trips to Australia and New Zealand. They have recorded two albums together, "Duet" and "Truth of a Woman". To see and hear Kristina is an experience, to catch Kristina and Peter on tour is a rare treat indeed |
