Winners of inaugural BBC Radio 2 Horizon award in 2000; winners of the BBC 2003 folk award for Best Duo and credited with the distinction of having their rendition of "Dance to your Daddy" (from Between The Dark And The Light FECD167) nominated for the best traditional song. Nancy and James have, without doubt, established themselves as one of the most professional and highly rated stage acts in the world of folk music. Their musicianship and tingling refreshing on stage performance, is a rare treat indeed. Nancy, with her distinctive singing and exquisite fiddle and viola style, and James, with his powerful singing, dynamic and skilful use of the flat backed bouzouki and mandolin, enthral their audiences whenever they perform. Proud of their roots, this Northumbrian lass and the lad from Oz, with a twinkle in his eye, have a so finely honed act, they never fail to please. |
