| The
Bills are Canada's fastest rising folk/roots act. They were winners
of Outstanding Roots Recording of 2003 (at the Western Canadian
Music Awards, edging out the Be Good Tanyas), and Juno nominees
in 2003. The Bills are brilliant technical, passionate, and
charming musicians and singers who blend a variety of global
folk traditions with their own West Coast Canadian attitude,
to create a new and vibrant roots style. Their third album, 'Let
Em Run', was released in September, 2004, and features 14 original compositions that capture the essence of life in their unique
part of the world. ..."The group's original songs and instrumentals simple ooze class, from the wistful song of departure Which Way Away and the gorgeous hillbilly classicism of When The Buckets Run Dry to The Old Blue Bridge's lusty balladry. Remember the name: the Bills, and when Billsmania sweeps the land as, it there is any justice, it will, remember, too: it started in Brookfield. Rob Adams The Herald. Live review Brookfield Village hall, Renfrew, Scotland 9/11/2005. |
