Emerging Music, represented by Sue and Ken Bradburn is now in it’s 14th year of operation. The business has grown and changed over the years, but still holds true to its ethos of quality music, personal service and reliability. There has always been an emphasis on bringing on new and exciting performers from the UK, Canada and the USA. Many of our “discoveries” have gone on to be household names in the folk and roots genre.

Talking of household names, big congratulations from us all to Nancy Kerr and James Fagan who won Best Duo Award at the 2011 Radio 2 Folk Awards.

New for 2012

Peggy Seeger
We are thrilled and excited to be working with one of the true “icons” of folk music. Peggy is a legend in her own time: More than 50 years of concerts, 20 solo albums, 100 joint recordings and 200 original songs.

Maz O’Connor
Maz is a young ballad singer from Cumbria. She was first inspired to sing when she attended a Folkworks youth summer school a few years ago. Since then she has appeared as guest singer with Last Orders, winners of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2007, at festivals all over the U.K., Spain and Germany, before going on to become a finalist in the competition herself in 2009. Maz is at the beginning of her career, and set to go far. Currently studying English at university, Maz has performed at many summer festivals since the competition, often accompanied by Matthew Jones on guitar

The “All Along the Wall” project was commissioned for Brampton Live, and following its success at Celtic Connections has now completed three great performances at Bury Met, Biddulph Town Hall and Sage Gateshead. A stripped down version also toured Village Halls. This project is still available for bookings, and features Julie Matthews, Ruth Notman, Rory McLeod, Boo Hewerdine, Jez Lowe, Kate Bramley, Elvis McGonnagall and Kate Fox.
